RE: [LGBFamily] Re: Next week
Sun May 6, 2007 1:55 pm
For me the situation is very simple and very clear.

1. The Richter family apparently has lost the LGB/Lehmann business through bankruptcy after over 125 years.
2. The financial institutions now apparently own the rights to the LGB/Lehmann business (at least in Germany).
3. Someone will eventually end up buying the LGB/Lehmann business.

If my family had not only created and developed a company but an entirely new market for the products of that company there is nothing that I would not do (that was legal) to minimize what the financial institutions taking over my family?s business would get.

There also would be nothing (that was legal) that I would not do to keep as much as possible from those financial institutions for my family.

The financial institutions that currently have claim to LGB/Lehmann are motivated by nothing more than maximizing their profits and/or minimizing their losses. LGB/Lehmann was built for financial reasons and it was taken over for financial reasons. It?s all about money ? nothing more and nothing less (which has NOTHING to do with good or bad).

In my opinion (as someone who has a significant part of my retirement income tied up in LGB branded products) my personal interests can best be met ONLY by the success of the joint Wöhrl/LGBoA deal.

Whenever anyone suggests that someone might have done ?something? my thought response is always the same - ?Yep! If it was me and it involved MY families money and MY family business I sure as heck would have done that myself.? Whether anyone did anything or not makes little difference to me because I am not such a hypocrite that I would condemn or look down on someone who might have done (and probably did not do) something that I myself would have done in the same circumstances.

?the smear campaign being carried on in one other forum in particular? in my opinion represents nothing more or less than self-aggrandizement by a few people with over-inflated egos and overestimated opinions of their self-importance.

They annoy the heck out of me because they are NOT in any way players in this situation. They have little or no personal investment or financial interest in the results of the negotiations in Germany. They DO NOT represent or have any association whatsoever with the Richters or with the financial institutions or with LGBoA. In my book that describes them as nothing more than trouble makers who?s only potential is to cause severe damage to my personal financial commitments and to the LGB/Lehmann future and to Garden Railroading overall.

Predators and parasites are the only descriptive terms that I can come up with for them.

They even viciously attacked a competitor of LGB?s who had come to LGB/Lehmann?s defense by stating that the LGB/Lehmann situation is hurting the entire industry and requested that such attacks be stopped.

As with most people I joined the large scale community because I was seeking a source of entertainment both before and after retirement. I was totally unprepared for the unexpected interrelationships with people who seem to thrive on being totally miserable and who seem to achieve their greatest pleasures by finding fault with everything about this hobby ? which is supposed to be about having fun.

My advice to everyone when you encounter one of these ?Black Holes? is to have as little as possible to do with them. They will suck you dry of any good feelings you might have. Logic, reason, truth, experience or facts have no meaning to them.

Regards,

Jerry
